The latest R+L Carriers Hometown Showcase stop took us to Lebanon High School, located 30 miles north of Cincinnati, Ohio and 30 miles south of Dayton. We spent the school day with the Lebanon Warriors talking about the many career opportunities available within the freight and logistics industry. Students were surprised to learn that logistics is much more than driving a truck. Careers include, but are not limited to:
Lebanon High School Career Services
One highlight of the day was working with Mrs. Turpin, instructor for Career and College Readiness. Mrs. Turpin prepares Lebanon students who are college bound and those who will immediately enter the workforce. Her passion for preparing these students for future careers is more than evident as you’ll see in our video! Mrs. Turpin enjoyed the Hometown Showcase hauler and shared with us details of a supply chain management course she took while attending Miami University. She believes that her students now have a much better understanding of the freight and logistics industry and how an unfamiliar term is present in everyday life.
“It connects to students because they all order things online , but they don’t realize what it’s called. I really think this is going to make a difference in their career plans.”
Libby Turpin, Career and College Readiness teacher, Lebanon High School

Student Achievement Award
The Hometown Showcase stayed around for some Friday night basketball action! Fans from both teams had an opportunity to tour our interactive hauler and learn about the logistics industry. Before the Varsity game, Lebanon High School student, Claire Prichard, was awarded the R+L Carriers Hometown Showcase Achievement Award. She was nominated by her Volleyball Coach, Tim Mersch, for demonstrating sportsmanship, academic excellence, and a commitment to her community. Claire is active in more than volleyball. She is a member of student council, her church youth group, and works a part time job! In the fall, Claire will be attending The Ohio State University to pursue a career in Rehabilitation Sciences. We applaud students like Claire who make a difference in their school and community.
