A Kiddie Wagon Thank You from Ochsner Hospital for Children

Published: | Author: HometownAuthor

The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl is more than a college football bowl game; it’s a full week experience. Between hosting parties for the players of both teams and a free Friday night concert, it’s an exciting week!  However, perhaps the most special event of the week  is our annual visit to the local children’s hospitals. During these visits, the players and R+L representatives get to meet and talk to families and children in the hospitals and give them New Orleans Bowl apparel and gear. This past year, R+L was thankful to be able to make a very special donation to Ochsner Hospital for Children: Personalized R+L Carriers Kiddie Carrier wagons.

We are forever grateful for the opportunity to visit Oschner Hospital for Children in New Orleans and donate R+L’s Carriers’ custom Kiddie Carrier wagons.  Seeing the delight on the faces of the children and the staff is something we aren’t able to measure.  These wagons serve as a vessel of normalcy for children en route to medical procedures, as well as the operating room. They also help ease the children’s anxiety and that is precisely why we began donating wagons to children’s hospitals in the first place. Knowing we are helping is great but when we hear first-hand accounts of how we are making a difference, it brings our excitement to a whole new level.

Child Life Specialist Whitney Alford is excited to see a new personalized R+L Carriers Kiddie Carrier wagon at Oschner Hospital for Children in New Orleans.

This heartwarming letter we received from the Oschsner Hospital for Children illustrates that fact perfectly. “We wanted to write and thank you for the generous donation that you provided for our pediatric patients during this holiday season. It was such a treat for them to enjoy! We will also be able to utilize the toys for so many different things including prizes and birthday celebrations!”

Hometown Showcase Supports Veterans

Published: | Author: HometownAuthor

2017 is here! That means Hometown Showcase is hitting the road and traveling the country to provide career opportunities. The first two stops of 2017 were in Dayton, Ohio to support local veterans by offering jobs in a variety of career fields including professional driving, mechanical, IT, and more.

Hometown Showcase

USAR Command Depot

Hometown Showcase visited Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on Sunday, January 8th to talk to more than 100 active reservists about the different career opportunities available to them at R+L Carriers. Representatives presented a short 20-minute presentation to give the reserves some information on the history of R+L, review the multiple jobs and careers that are available to them locally as well as around the country and the benefits and perks of working for the company. The reserves were able to visit the Hometown Showcase Hauler and get a glimpse of what R+L is really all about: Family and pride in performance. They were also able to talk to Human Resources representatives about how they could apply for jobs currently available.

Supporting Veterans Year Round

Lima Company Memorial

Life-size mural paintings of the 23 fallen soldiers in this battalion travel the entire country, honoring all the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

It was an honor to support our nation’s veterans and service men and women at our first events in 2017. Veterans have a special place in our hearts, as R+L Carriers is proud to support the Lima Company Memorial, a traveling memorial of the Marine infantry reserve unit based in Columbus, Ohio, Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines (Three Deuce Five or 3/25). Life-size mural paintings of the 23 fallen soldiers in this battalion travel the entire country, honoring all the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. A complete schedule of events can be found on their website if you are interested in seeing the memorial in person. We highly recommend it.
