R+L Carriers is proud to have presented Kelli U. of McClain High School in Greenfield, Ohio with the Hometown Showcase Achievement Award on October 5. Kelli, a senior at McClain High School was nominated by McClain High School Principal Jason Potts. She was presented with the award at the Friday night football game after our team was able to interact with students around logistics career opportunities in the classroom. After the presentations to students, we blocked off the streets, rolled in our interactive hauler for the community, and had some Hometown Showcase fun!

Mr. Potts told us that he nominated Kelli as she is an excellent student, student-athlete, and all-around great young lady. He also informed us that Kelli represents McClain High School exceptionally in her various school affiliations.

Kelli is involved in several extracurricular activities such as soccer, basketball, and FFA, and she was named Team Captain of the McClain Lady Tiger Varsity Soccer Team.

“Obtaining this [Team Captain] position has allowed me to successfully lead my team to our greatest potential”, Kelli told us.

She is also a member of the National Honor Society, where members of this nationwide organization are selected based on their scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

McClain High School senior Kelli U. was awarded the R+L Carriers Hometown Showcase Achievement Award.

Kelli credits her leadership skills largely to participating in the McClain High School FFA program. She told us that public speaking was a weakness during her freshman year and the thought of giving a speech in front of 25 of her classmates was daunting. After three years of hard work, Kelli stood in front of 600 FFA members and guests and delivered a speech on the topic of leadership at an FFA banquet for her chapter. She credits learning from those closest to her with teaching her how to be a leader.

“Above all, Kelli has high integrity”, McClain High School principal Jason Potts added.

“She has made our school a much better place because of her sunny disposition and her commitment to being a Cougar.”

Celebrate Munford

It just so happened that the Hometown Showcase was in Munford for the annual Celebrate Munford event, a day-long festival held in the downtown area of the community. The festival traditionally features vending areas and three entertainment stages, but this year it also featured the R+L Carriers Hometown Showcase! We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring our interactive hauler to the festival and have some more fun with the Munford community!

Kimmey J of Brighton High School Receives Achievement Award

Brighton High School, home of the Cardinals, was one of the stops we made during our recent trip to Memphis, Tennessee. We spoke to high school students about the many career opportunities available within the transportation and logistics industry. That evening during their Friday night football game, we were honored to present our student achievement award to a very deserving student, Kimmey J.

Brighton High School Student Kimmy J. Receives Achievement Award

R+L Carriers was proud to present our Hometown Showcase Achievement Award to Brighton High School senior Kimmey J. Brighton Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Brian Crowson nominated Kimmey because he regularly demonstrates the character that he expects from all Brighton High School students. Mr. Crowson said

“Kimmey is the same person if he is being supervised by a teacher or walking with friends down the hallway.”

In addition to his outstanding character, Kimmey is a leader on the Brighton High School baseball team where he encourages younger players to perform better and fight through adversity. We asked Kimmey about the personal attributes that set him apart from the rest of his classmates, and he said his generosity and the fact that he is always willing to go out of his way to help others. For example, he described a time he saw an elderly woman struggling with her grocery basket and how he rushed over to help her unload her groceries. This is exactly the kind of giving heart Kimmey demonstrates on a daily basis. His leadership, positive attitude, and friendly personality are qualities that will help him be successful in the future. We’re proud to be able to acknowledge Kimmey and the character he possesses.
