While New England trees were turning a warm, autumn color, local R+L employees maintained their steadfast work ethic, sporting company green. In the days prior to October 14, preparations were underway to accommodate the R+L Carriers Hometown Showcase in its travel across much of the Northeast.
NEW EVENTS OUT OF NEWBURGH, NEW YORK
The hauler sets up adjacent to the Newburgh, New York service center
The R+L Carriers Hometown Showcase has a rich history visiting service centers throughout the United States. As the hauler rolled into the Newburgh, New York service center on Thursday, October 14, it began a one-week journey to meet a multitude of prospective employees out of the Northeast.
Following a setup around the hauler, recruiters met with some of their first visitors, eager to learn what opportunities awaited at R+L Carriers. Attendees were able to browse several interactive features within the hauler, such as kiosks exploring the company and its affiliates. One of the most prominent display pieces contains a replica of the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Trophy, awarded each year to the winning team.
FOUR NEW ENGLAND TRACTOR TRAILER TRAINING SCHOOL VISITS
Recruiters discuss logistics careers with NETTTS student out of North Andover, Massachusetts
Since 1965, the New England Tractor Trailer Training School (NETTTS) has offered its educational services to thousands of students. North Andover, Massachusetts; Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Somers, Connecticut, and Bridgeport, Connecticut, are home to just some of their many facilities. Our recruiters spoke to over 150 students, discussing educational requirements, jobs versus careers, and company comparisons in the transportation industry.
In a series of larger group talks, R+L personnel demonstrated how our company provides a solid future with many growth opportunities. Many one-on-one discussions began over a game of corn hole, a staple of R+L Carriers Hometown Showcase events. Attendees won a plethora of hats, shirts, footballs and others items, leaving with their own personal tokens from the company. Our events embrace this welcoming, conversational atmosphere, with staff eager to answer questions from anyone present.
